Welcome to The Stags Head a timeless haven that is nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park, we are located in the beautiful medieval village of Dunster, near Minehead in Somerset.
The Stags Head has recently re-opened after being closed for several months.  Nigel and I, Janie are the proud new owners.   We have long dreamed of being a part of this beautiful village and its community.  Our dream became a reality and we moved to the village in July 2023. We are joined by our close friends Ringo and Pepper. All four of us share a great love for this building, and have the same goal, to bring her back to life. 

When we moved into the Stags Head in July 2023, the building was looking tired and calling out for a new lease of life.

 Seeing the work ahead of us, we decided we would re-open in phases.   So we set about phase 1 which was to re-open the bar so we could welcome the village and holidaymakers back. The bar has proved a great success and is being enjoyed by old and new friends.  When we came here Nigel and I wanted to offer live music for the enjoyment of all.  Since opening, we have been lucky to of had several local musicians play here.  Please check out our Facebook page for all future music nights or pop in and see our 'What's On board.'

Phase 2 was to re-open our Kitchen.  We are pleased to have now completed the Kitchen and are now open.  We have been serving food at weekends only trialling different ideas.  We are now serving lunches on weekdays during the Easter School holidays. We are not serving food in the evenings at present but will update our website and Facebook page when we do. If you would like to try us for lunch please email or give us a call and we will confirm our opening times and availability, but we do accept walk-ins.

 Phase 3 was to re-open our B&B.  We are almost ready to accept bookings for 2 of our rooms.  Please contact us directly if you would like to book a stay with us.
